Moving between councils
You pay each council only for the days you live there: the bill is split by day when you move. Tell both councils your moving date, and check the new home's band before you move, because a higher band can cost more than a pricier council. Different nations value homes differently (Wales on 2003 values, England and Scotland on 1991 values), so the same house can sit in a different band across a border. Council tax when you move house.
